Simply put, Kemba’s scoring has quite literally the lowest effect on the game than any player in NBA history. His points have not equaled wins since his days at the University of Connecticut and it is finally starting to come to light. Despite being disguised as an elite point guard, Walker has actually never been such. He has, though, put up very good scoring numbers and Thursday night was no different. While he proved he still has it as a bucket-getter, it’s still painfully obvious that Walker’s play on offense stalls his team’s game.
Especially in today’s game where the guard is the focal point of almost every team’s offense, your point guard must be able to control the game. Walker may have been able to be that guy earlier in his career but at this point, he seems just like points are his main objective and not wins. To his credit, before today, the Knicks were actually much better with him on the court than when he is off of it. New York is 10-11 with Walker on the court and just 4-8 when he sits.
